Another ‘Day in the Life’ post following the amazing Goodman team! This time we’re checking in with our Operations and Finance Manager Jane. We hope you’re enjoying getting to know the wonderful team on a personal level by seeing what they get up to in a standard day!
About Jane:
Jane has worked for Goodman Corporate Finance for over 5 years now, starting in 2016. You can read about when she joined the company here. Jane has worked with Paul on and off since she was just 20!
Jane’s role can be defined as ‘Operations and Finance Manager’. She is responsible for the day-to-day financial function for all the companies within the Goodman Group. Jane enjoys her role as one of MD Paul’s right-hand-women and helps organise the hectic, executive schedules of Paul and Group Sales Director, Stefan Radymski.
Jane’s role also sees her providing administration support to our team of sales consultants, which never fails to keep her busy!
Jane is known around the office as a cat mum to 4 adorable cats and enjoys spending time in the garden, keeping her cottage in order, cooking hearty meals, and taking scenic walks around the rural village in which she lives. Jane and her partner Martyn enjoy visiting the local pubs for the occasional evening meal and drink.
Jane dotes on her nieces and enjoys spending time with them, describing them as the ‘apples of her eye’. She is also god mum to Roxanne and Paul’s son Jack.
Work life:
The start of Jane’s workday involves seeing to a few household chores, caring for the cats, and knocking back a couple of coffees to get her buzzed for the workday.
Once at the computer, Jane deals with all outstanding emails which have dropped in overnight, actioning any requests and then gets on with her various to-do lists. She then sets about dealing with any accounts-related matters and supports our sales consultants as and where required.
Jane is known for assisting the team in diary management and appointment scheduling. She handles all things commission related and ensures timely payments before the month-end.
Home life:
When Jane isn’t working, she enjoys going shopping around Nottingham and grabbing a cocktail in the process! She also particularly loves garden centres, anything vintage or antique and everything Christmas!
Jane also spends a lot of time with her nieces, enjoying late night sleepovers. The following days being full of a variety of activities, including colouring, movies, walks in the park, painting stones, and playing bowls in the garden!
She describes herself as very house proud and enjoys keeping a cosy home. In the cold winter nights, Jane and Martyn love sitting by the open fire with a glass of red wine and copious amounts of cat cuddles!
