I can honestly say that January 2017 has been an incredible month for the team here at Goodman HQ.
The addition of Jane to the team who started in November last year, has made such a difference to the running of the central office. She has been a great help to me with the finance and invoicing and has got the office much more focused (and she also shares my passion for cake!). Having her here means I have now got more time to focus on client relationships and business development.
We also welcomed Sean to the team who has brought with him a fresh working ethic and keen drive to assist in trading business finance, and property lending working closely with Robin. He has been thrown in at the deep end with the current work load, but he has taken it in his stride and the momentum he has achieved already is testament to his focus and commitment.
We also had our NACFB Compliance Audit, which went extremely well. It was great to hear from someone independent how much we have achieved in our business and that we are leading the way for best practice in our industry. I had spent a huge amount of time over the last 6 months preparing, and it was a relief when it was over, but there is no time to rest on my laurels. Compliance is ongoing and I am keen to continue to make great progress over the next 12 months with new developments in our systems and maintaining the practices we have instigated to ensure we remain at the forefront of compliance.
January also saw some exiting new opportunities develop for the business and our first team meeting of the year was held off site. This was a great opportunity to catch up away from the office and the team generally felt this was a great way to share ideas and make a start on the development plan for 2017!
We saw the practice introduced to a wide-ranging variety of new clients ranging from medical innovation and catering to manufacturing and technology.
We were also pleased to work with some existing clients again on new projects for their businesses including a transport company, haulage business, construction client and property portfolio holders.
We are looking forward to seeing what February will bring…..
