In the second in the series of our Day In the Life stories Tom shares his day with us. As mentioned previously, the team and team culture is incredibly important to us at Goodman Corporate Finance. About Tom:
Tom is an ex professional rugby player turned Finance Consultant. He’s been working for GCF for around 2 years now and is adapting to the role well while recognising there is always room to learn new things when it comes to the ever-changing world of commercial finance and corporate finance consulting!
Alongside his rugby training and work as a financial consultant, Tom is a co-founder of the beer Bach 95. Bach 95 was founded due to a lack of a low-calorie beer on the market by Tom and two of his rugby colleagues and has become a large project that Tom enjoys working on daily! Work life:
A ‘typical’ workday for Tom (there’s not really a “typical” day for any of us!) involves him waking up around 6am and either walking the dog, going for a run or heading over to the gym. When he gets back, Tom then reads the NACFB morning briefing to keep up to date on industry news and events. He then splits his time between the financial life at Goodman Corporate and the beer and brewery life with Bach 95, an interesting split!
Tom spend his time with GCF seeking out clients to help provide funding to, networking and liaising with our MD Paul to help with his on-the-job learning!
Home life:
When Tom isn’t involved in corporate finance consulting or Bach 95, he can be found playing rugby or training, sometimes with Paul!
Tom is recently married and has set about fixing up the house whenever possible with his partner, he described their life outside of work and training as “a quiet life”. They’re both big softies for their dog!
