Long Eaton Rugby, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is one of the leading community sports clubs in the region. Catering for boys and girls from age four up to men’s, women’s and veteran teams, Long Eaton Rugby brings people of all ages and abilities together to socialise and keep active.

Paul Goodman, Managing Director of Goodman Corporate Finance, said: “I am delighted to confirm our five-year deal as the main sponsor for our local rugby club, starting in the 2018/19 season. I was an active rugby player when I was younger and this is a great opportunity for us to help support a local club and its surrounding community, and to give something back to the sport that has given me so much.”

The sponsorship deal will help with the day-to-day running of the club including coaching, kit production and maintenance of the club house and social events, and support the club’s ambition to have its own 3G pitch by 2021.

Chris Brookes, Chair and Development Manager at Long Eaton Rugby, said: “We’re delighted to have Goodman Corporate Finance on board, especially with such a long commitment. As a company that’s committed to helping businesses reach their potential, Goodman is a great name to have associated with Long Eaton Rugby. I know Paul is keen to help the club develop and is also an avid rugby supporter.”

The club’s first and second teams are both top of their competitive leagues this season and are set for promotion. The 1st XV were also placed second in this year’s Midland Cup.

Chris added: “The generosity from the team at Goodman will ensure the smooth running of our club into the next season and help to support our goals, as we continually strive to develop on and off the pitch. We aim to be one of the leading community sports clubs in the area for local residents, with the facilities and coaching to match. I believe this can be made possible with the support of businesses like Goodman.”

We can’t thank them enough for their contribution and look forward to working together over the next five years

Chris Brookes, Chairman

Paul concluded: “In the same way that we aim to use local businesses to provide services for our offices wherever possible to support their growth, we hope that this sponsorship of Long Eaton Rugby will help them better support the local community.”
